One of the best things about being a part of the Association of Bridal Consultants is the on-going education we receive. In fact, you cannot be a member without proving on-going education each year. Our Arizona chapter meets once a month, and there are Bridal Consultants and excellent vendors to exchange ideas with and learn from.
I met the very knowledgeable and personable Tamara Leonard from Dapper Dan’s Designer Tuxedos & Suits. She spoke to our group about trends she is seeing in formal wear for men. This year men are going for a sleeker, more slender look. Suit coats are shorter and not as boxy as in the past. Lapels are slender and pants are flat, not pleated. Light colors are really in…especially gray. Men are definitely choosing the black shirt more than ever. No matter what body type a man has, he can wear these trendy looks, and with Tamara’s 20 years of sewing and alteration experience he will have a perfectly fitting wedding day ensemble.
I was excited to learn that Dapper Dan’s has the Black Tie Exchange in their store. They buy, sell, trade & exchange gently used men’s formal / business attire. They are very picky about what they take in and you can buy a great men’s suit for $25! Some grooms want to wear a nice suit-not a tux, and this could be a great option for some. Check them out at www.blacktieexchange.com and www.dapperdansmenswear.com.
