A wedding-day emergency kit is a must-have item! It seems that I need something from my kit at every wedding I coordinate. If you want to put your own kit together, here is a checklist of items that I consider essential:
Brush/comb
Clear nail polish
Emory boards
Hair spray
Tissues
Mints
Small mirror
Baby powder or white chalk, for dealing with spills on a white dress
Bobby pins/hair elastics
Sewing kit
Spot remover wipes
Pain reliever
Band-aids/small first-aid kit
Deodorant
Insect repellant, for outdoor weddings
Mouthwash
Dental floss
Tampons/pads
Double-stick tape
1 pair men’s black socks
Anti-static spray
Cotton swabs
Antacid
Lint roller
Scissors
Lighter
Safety pins
Visine and contact lens solution
Wouldn’t it be great if the Maid of Honor or Bridesmaids put this together as a thoughtful gift for the Bride? It could be replenished as needed and shared later among friends and family. Don’t forget to put together a list of important phone numbers: vendors, bridal party, family, etc. If you are not working with a Professional Bridal Consultant, ask someone responsible to carry the list and make any necessary phone calls for you.
Now, relax and enjoy your wedding day!
